Ishrat Jahan is a Founder-Trustee of House of Mannan Charitable
Trust (HMCT). She received her B.S. degree in Biology from the University of
Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee, USA in 1993 and M.S. degree in Clinical
Pharmacology from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
in 1998. She was a research scientist at the Department of Renal Pharmacology,
SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceutical Company (GlaxoSmithKline), King of Prussia,
Pennsylvania, USA from 1998-2001.
Ishrat Jahan has functional and
technical competencies in molecular and cell biology and a knowledge of good
manufacturing product (GMP). She has analyzed and recorded research data,
designed and conducted experiments independently and published several articles
in prestigious scientific journals.
Currently she is a homemaker and
active mother of three children involved in assisting and organizing
educational programs and events for young children at the Pleasant View Islamic
School, which is the only Islamic school in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. She also
volunteers in various community outreach programs for the Muslim community in
Memphis (2001-present).
