Located
in a remote village of Sirajganj at Nimgachi, the school is a non-profit
organization that provides educational opportunities to relatively
disadvantaged children. Unparalleled in Bangladesh, the school has intellectual,
financial, and physical resources, including its own land and a five-story
building. This is the only English medium school operating in this remote
village, and is financed exclusively by the Trust in the private
sector. Because the school aims to serve poor students, school fees are
either nil or negligible. For deserving and underprivileged students, this
school also offers a partial or full scholarship for tuition. Currently
the school is teaching from play-group to Grade 10 with goals to expand to
grade 12 in the near future. The ultimate objective of the school is to become
a center of educational excellence and provide students with the tools to grow
to their fullest potential.
During the COVID-19 pandemic trustee member,
Yasmeen Mannan founded an online english literacy program between her
highschool in Memphis, USA and this school in an effort to teach english and
increase recruitment of students to the school. Students from grade 6 to 10 met
with highschool student tutors online in the USA and engaged in learning
vocabulary, reading comprehension and conversation practice.
