The aim of this program
is to provide free medicines and spectacles to primary school going students
through eye examination. This program is implemented in multiple educational
institutions every week. Public and private primary schools and madrassas are
chosen for this. However, in the selection process, the highest priority is
given to educational institutions where children from poor families’ study.
HMCT's eyecare team visits the school on the scheduled day subject to
consultation with school authorities. HMCT optometrists examine the children's
eyes and give prescriptions. HMCT provides free prescription drugs and
spectacles. If a child is found to have serious eye problems, a referral is made
to a hospital for tertiary treatment.
