HMCT organizes at least one eye camp every month to provide free cataract surgery services. These camps are usually held on fixed days in areas that are densely populated by poor people. Before the camp program, campaigning is done in the area through banner-festoon hanging, mic, etc. A team of doctors and paramedics at the camp selects suitable patients for surgery and they are later taken to the hospital for surgery. Another advantage of this camp is that patients who do not require surgery but have other eye problems – get a free eye-specialist’s prescription. It can be said that HMCT has taken eyecare services to the doorstep of the poor people.
